Relationship and Marriage Counselling

How are you and your partner getting along? Do you fight a lot? Do you often find yourselves bringing up issues or conflicts from the past that should have been brought to resolution long ago? Do you sometimes wonder if your relationship is viable? These are the questions that frequently arise in relationship or marriage counselling. The questions seem to be the same whether it's working with a "traditional" couple or with same-sex partners.

Values, money, sex, intimacy, children, and sharing responsibility are all important issues to discuss. Issues that aren't discussed (those that are "taboo" for some reason) sometimes account for the divide that has grown between two people. At times, I have found it most useful to include other family members (children, parents, grandparents) as part of these relationship or marriage counselling sessions.
